Second Weekly update - in the same week

I bought a dragon. I mean a kite. But it is so easy to confuse those things. After all they do have similarities. Not to mention that there are lots of kites which are constructed in the image of dragons. And in my language at least, they are the same word. Sárkány. It is not here yet though. Will be soon and the fun begins. Tobi is delighted too and in his great delight he got some pets.

My sister once came home with a bunny. I was about 6 at the time. When finally we got rid of it weighed as much as a… well, a full grown rabbit. She has recently, 20 years and a bit later bought another one. Tobi of course didn’t bring home a tender and fluffy soft rabbit. I don’t think it would have made it home. Jen would be concerned about mess in kitchen as well… And I think Tobi knows himself. He handles his meat outside the house, we only go as far as tuna out of a can. Well, he is a predator so I don’t ask him about rabbits. He brought home 3 lion cubs. They were sweet and settle in the kitchen quickly but the cute cubs will only be cute and small for a time. Three grown lions however have some different ideas about living together… Tobi for dinner, etc and when I mentioned that Tobi decided maybe it was best to take them back to their mom and leave them to be. I thought it was a good idea.

Lili is getting into drawing dragons. I try to but the one we have in the house is an impossible model. The moment you need him to be still, he cannot stop fidgeting and moving. Like a six years old boy in a Scottish primary school. You say ‘listen up folk’ and the moment those 3 words left the teacher’s mouth, pupils look in all directions, ears shut, brain temporarily dead, face especially blank and hand… I am not even going to get into what hands might be doing. I can say, that after three years in lower primary I think I’ve seen it all but probably I had only a heart introduction.

Tobi is the same. He will sleep for hours in the shape of a ball, covered with wings, motionless, useless to picture, he will sit in the window, drinking sunlight , providing excellent profile till one picks up the pencil. Lili and I practice, but most of our drawings come from imagination.

I can’t wait to get my kite and fly it. Jen said that for a while she won’t accompany me to such events. She said that she doesn’t want spending an afternoon repeating every so often ‘Can I have a shot?’ less and less expectantly receiving variations of ‘in a minute’ every time for answer.

weekly News update

Life is full of wonderful events and occasions. Unfortunately it seems that my life is in lack of wonderful moments when I can sit down and share the wonderful events and joy of wonderful occasions with people who would care to read. Or I may have run out of funny stuff, writing in a funy way for the time being and it feels like the rest is not so important. I am not sure. Maybe it is going to be like that for the summer. Once it gets dark and cold again, all of the sudden we will have a more interesting life (?)… Whatever

Last week on Friday, there has been a party, an anniversary of a wedding… I have not expected much of the food, so I have had a tasty flapjack before entering. I tried to get one for Tobi but he has turned me down. Oh, well, I thought, at least it’s a save of a euro. Wondering about we were eventually seated for food but there was still no food to be eaten. The flapjack’s memory was long gone and Tobi has annoyed the living out of Lili, tapping on her head or shoulders while she wasn’t watching. Eventually he could wait no longer and disappeared towards the kitchen. I finally met him again on Sunday for lunch. He hasn’t brought lunch… eaten it all I guess at the place so I had to share. Again.

The rest of the Party on Friday was really nice. We have eaten ourselves to near bursting than danced some Scottish dances. It would have been nice to rest the experience out the following day but you know, no rest for the wicked. My boss is on sick leave, my supply boss is on holiday so I have a supply supply boss who has not done her job properly. I tried to summon a college by myself but it was too late… Spent most of the weekend working on my own. If anything nice…. This wasn’t it. Especially that even Tobi has not been around to keep me company.

On Monday I was dragging myself all day till I finally fallen to sleep at 5:22pm.

The weekend was nice, just like a real weekend for a change although it wasn’t a weekend on the usual days. Tuesday and Wednesday. A wonderful lot of rest. Recycling-centre shop… Managed to spend a whole 10euro 20cents. We spend a fortune in that shop every time we are there. Tobi didn’t get anything leaving him disappointed for the second time in a row. Better fix something on the next visit.

Yesterday we went on a kiting picnic to the beach. Lili got a kite for her birthday but it hasn’t flown yet so it was time. Tobi bored or something sat on Lili’s lap who was sitting on Jens’s bike. Jen wasn’t happy about this arrangement but we got there safely avoiding much swinging to the sides.

The kite lasted for about half an hour before we managed to more or less wreck it. We tried to fly it again after lunch but not much success till Tobi offered to stand in for the kite which went well at firs but then the string somehow got around his neck. I thought he was trying to do some stunts up there but really he was struggling for air. It looked awesome though. In the meanwhile Lili had a dip in a puddle sheltered from the Baltic Sea by send bank, it was still freezing cold although nothing like a month ago when the coast Was still frozen. Kiting finished and we headed home. I decided I will have a new hobby. After all I engaged so well with Archery… which I have not bothered with for about 3 months. I guess too much work and didn’t want to top it up with more. Kites seem so much more gentle and light and sunshiny and pretty. Peaceful as well.
