Life is back in business 65 Degrees north! - sort of

On our balcony I saw a half finished spider web this afternoon. The spider was nowhere to be seen. I wonder...
What happened to it?
And I came to the conclusion that since winter was long, hibernation was long and the poor thing must have died of hunger long before managing to even finish producing its means of getting food.
But it tried. Viva la Hungry Spiders!

I would have a question to this early, hungry predators out there: Even if you finish your web? where are the flying insects to be caught? I haven't seen one yet.

Spring is in the way, snow endlessly melts and our neighborhood smells of dog shit! There are some woods around us and now that the snow is melting, six months worth of dog shit is dissolving in puddles all at once emitting all the stanch they can muster! Fantastic experience to step out the door during the day.

Lili and Tobi enter the house wet to the neck every time they go out! Those puddles, deep as Loch-Ness or some similar glacier lake and... too much temptation.
